WhatsApp Voice Call Feature finally lands on Apple’s iPhones with new iOS update for the popular messenger App. The WhatsApp calling features that first became available to Android users last month enable you to speak to your contacts for free with the help of Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Much like Viber and Skype now you can use WhatsApp to call anyone for free regardless of where they live for free. However, the person you are calling should also have WhatsApp installed on their device to complete the call.
Calling feature update is rolling out slowly over coming weeks so if you haven’t received it yet quite possibly it will be on its way. Along with the much awaited feature the messenger app has also added iOS 8 share extension that shares photos and videos and links directly from other apps.
Another important update in this new iOS WhatsApp version include camera button in chats and quick display of recently saved pictures and videos. Now you can also send multiple videos at one time and even switch dimensions and crop videos within the app before sending them.
The Facebook owned messenger App’s voice feature that first arrived on Android last month got a mix response from Android users. While most appreciated Free Calling (with internet or mobile data) lack of sound quality and slight delay left many disappointed. However taking into consideration that WhatsApp Calling is a VOIP service perhaps call quality and delay issues might get resolved with time.
