Users of second generation Apple TVs running the Apple TV 5.3 firmware are going to be really happy as FireCore team has finally released the untetherd jailbreak for the Apple TV (2G).
The new version of Seas0nPass is now able to untethered jailbreak Apple TV 5.3 on the second generation Apple TV consoles just after some days the team Evad3rs released the much awaited untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 firmware for Apple’s mobile devices.
However, the Seas0nPass update is available only for the second generation Apple TV and the third generation Apple TV users will have to stay disappointed as of now. There are reports that the untethered jailbreak for the third generation Apple TV is also one the way, but waiting is the thing no one hates.
With the release of Seas0nPass for Apple TV 5.3, FireCore has also promised that the progress on Apple TV 6.0+ has been made and the good news will be coming pretty soon.
“Today we’re excited to announce the release of new versions of aTV Flash (black) and Seas0nPass that allow for an untethered jailbreak of Apple TV 5.3 (ATV2 only). Big thanks goes out to @iH8sn0w, @winocm, and @SquiffyPwn for their help with the new version of Seas0nPass. Additionally, there has been some encouraging progress made on Apple TV 6.0+ thanks to our friends @evad3rs and @nitoTV, and we hope to have more news available soon,” FireCore announced.
Apple TV2 users who have already moved on to Apple TV 6 and higher, should not be disappointed as they can always downgrade their consoles to Apple TV 5.3 version and enjoy the Seas0nPass untethered jailbreak. You can download the Apple TV 5.3 firmware from here and install it manually.
We will soon be posting a step-by-step tutorial on how to jailbreak Apple TV (2nd generation) on Apple TV 5.3 firmware using Seas0nPass 2.4.
