Apple’s iPhone must be ruling the world as the most selling and most advanced smartphone. But when it comes to world’s most powerful man, US President Barak Obama, BlackBerry beats Apple.
Obama recently revealed that he is not allowed to use Apple’s iPhone because of security reasons.
“I’m not allowed for security reasons to have an iPhone,” Obama told a group of young visitors at White House during a promotion event for his health care law.
Though the US President uses BlackBerry for his official use, he does posses a third-generation iPad and a MacBook Pro. At the same time, Obama’s daughters – Sasha and Malia – are iPhone users and spend a lot of time with the iDevice.
After being elected as the President, Obama had to fight against the wishes of Secret Service to keep his bulky BlackBerry. He was also regarded as the most tech-savvy president in history because of his love for gadgets and technology.
Obama uses his email id during his presidency something which earlier presidents like George W. Bush and Bill Clinton didn’t. According to him, on 10 people have his personal email address.
So far, the Canadian mobile maker, BlackBerry is seen as the most secured mobile manufacturer and the device are being used by many US Government organizations. But, with the time, Apple has started capturing the territory of the company earlier known as Research in Motion.
Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 6 has achieved an FIPS certification earlier this year. The First Information Processing Standard 140-2 level 1 was given to iOS 6 that allows some government agencies to use the devices running on the operating system.
We are not sure if Apple will be able to win the confidence of US Secrete Service and pictures of Obama using an iPhone will be seen during his tenure, but it’s quite evident that echo of Apple’s products has reached the office of US government agencies.
