Two biggies of tech town Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg join the list of popular people who took Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS disease. Zuckerburg who was challenged by Governor Chris Christie posted a video on his facebook Timeline showing him pouring a bucket full of Ice water on his head.
Mark’s video got above 2,38,000 like and more than 28,000 shares on Facebook within hours. The CEO of most successful social network challenged former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Netflix CEO Reed Hashting.
On the other hand Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella accepted the challenge from Former Professional American Football player Steve Gleason who himself is battling with deadly ALS disease and created this challenge to raise funds and awareness for the same.
The team of winners from Microsoft’s recent Hackethon event got the opportunity to throw icy water on Microsoft CEO. Further, Nadella challenged Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Google co-founder Larry Page to take the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Steve Gleason started Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and money for little known neurological disease “Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis”. The challenge takers also get opportunity to nominate other people who should complete the challenge within 24 hours or/and donate to the cause. With the help of this creative challenge and participation of popular people from entertainment and corporate world ALS has collected more than 5.7 million dollars towards the cause.
